Countdown Challenge 2009

I am joining the Countdown Challenge. The total number of books to be read for this challenge is 45. The rules are to read the number of books first published in a given year that corresponds to the last digit of each year in the 2000s.

9 books published in 2009; 8 books published in 2008; and so on. The Challenge runs from 08/08/08 to 09/09/09 - Yes, it is RETROACTIVE back to August of this year.
